Málaga, Marbella & Granada

by Pixeltree

After some intense weeks at work while at the same time finishing my bachelor’s thesis I was really looking forward to a few days off. We spent a long weekend in Málaga in southern Spain. We stayed in an apartment in the midst of the historic center of Málaga from where the beach could be reached by foot in about 15 minutes.

We found the apartment via housetrip.com (highly recommended). We were warmly welcomed by the landlady who met us at the train station and escorted us to the apartment. On this occasion she told us a bit about the city and what it has to offer (for example a back-alley bar which only serves sweet Málaga wine, see pictures below). Although Málaga has a beautiful historic city center, it is not very large. Hence we also made two day trips — one to Marbella (beautiful old town, dreadful touristy hotels between it an the sea) and Granada (with the astonishing La Alhambra).
